Steve Cavender.
Husband, father,
grandfather & businessman.

A lifetime of leadership for community & country.

Steve Cavender has called Arlington home since 1961. A graduate of Arlington High School, he went on to study business and accounting at the University of Texas at Arlington—laying the foundation for a lifetime of service, leadership, and hard work.

From 1969 to 1976, Steve proudly served his country in both the United States Marine Corps Reserves and the United States Army Reserves, answering the call to serve with honor and discipline.

Family has always been at the center of Steve’s life. He and his wife, Ann — his high school sweetheart —are the proud parents of three married daughters and grandparents to six wonderful grandchildren. Deeply rooted in their faith and community, the Cavenders worship at St. Albans Anglican Church. Ann, a former Arlington ISD bilingual educator, is also a leader in Bible Study Fellowship International/Español.

A dedicated civic leader, Steve has served on the River Legacy Foundation Board for more than 25 years and is currently in his second term as President. His commitment to Arlington extends across numerous civic and community initiatives focused on preserving the city’s quality of life.

Since 1982, Steve has worked as a real estate developer, helping drive local job creation, economic growth, and responsible community development. His career reflects a simple belief: when Arlington thrives, everyone benefits.
